An Invitation to University Students
The Queensland Mining Industry Safety and Health Conference Committee is pleased to extend the offer to a limited number of students studying mining and related disciplines to attend this year’s Conference at The Star Gold Coast.
A complimentary registration is being offered to students to attend the Conference on Tuesday 20 August.
Complimentary return bus transfer from The University of Queensland to The Star, Gold Coast
For those who are not able to make their own way from Brisbane, a complimentary coach service will collect students from The University of Queensland (St Lucia Campus) at the Sir James Foots Building 47A at 9.30am and depart The Star Gold Coast around 8:00pm.
What to expect:
During the course of the day, students will be able to join in the Concurrent Session presentations being delivered by industry experts. The day will culminate with the Student Forum at 4.45pm, which provides students with the opportunity to engage in an informal Q&A session with senior members of industry from the private, union, public and regulatory sectors. The Forum will enable students to raise health, safety and social license to operate matters and hear from industry on how these challenges are being met.
Lunch is provided and you will also be invited to attend the ‘Happy Hour’ to be held among the trade displays between 6.00pm and 7.00pm, where beverages and light refreshments will be served.
For further details on the Conference and the Program, please visit our website: http://www.qldminingsafety.org.au/
Be quick to register your interest through emailing Jenny Marsden, Conference Organiser at: safeconf@acclaimsemm.com.au and providing your name, contact details (email and phone number), brief details of the undergraduate course you are studying and the name of the University you are attending.
Nominations must be received by Friday 9 August. Please indicate if you require the coach service.
