Our deepest condolences to Ramsay Well’s wife Linda, his three children – Maverick, Challenge and Aurora. His friends and colleagues, our thoughts are with you. Through a tragic accident we’ve lost a person very dear to the mining industry, he has touched many lives and we are all mourning his loss.

Ramsay was a significant contributor to the success of the Queensland Mining Industry Health and Safety Conference through his role with Queensland Mines Rescue Service (QMRS).

Ramsay was always a pleasure to work with, enthusiastically ensuring QMRS was well represented at the conference, tirelessly organising events to showcase their skills and ensuring they have high quality display. QMRS is a family in itself, with its members being part of a wider Mines Rescue community.  During the QMIHS conferences – Ramsay has helped many of those members, offering his wisdom and encouraging them to give it a go, or to aspire to be more than they thought they were capable of.  He was generous with his time and his advice, and motivated people to ‘take action’.

A true larrikin, with a big brain and an even bigger heart. Anyone who came in contact with Ramsay will remember his boundless energy, life stories, fearlessness, his wit, cheeky humour and of course his legendary smile. It is sad to have lost such a caring and passionate person, one of the true characters of our industry.

Ramsay you were one in a million.  A life cut too short, irreplaceable, and great loss to us all. Rest in peace Rambo, your memory and legacy will live on.
