Born from Tragedy. Driven by Purpose.

Our registered Chairty providing Australia-wide support is independent, impartial and operates without judgement.

Our Purpose

To provide compassionate care, guidance, essential liaison and advocacy, trauma-informed support, grief counselling, practical assistance and financial support for mining, energy and resources families.

Our Promise

To support families navigate crisis, trauma, life-changing injuries and bereavement and move forward in their own time, in their own way.

Compassion. Care. Connection.

From January to November 2025, 38 families across Australia (WA 22, QLD 7, NSW 5, SA 3, VIC 1) have been cared for by Miners’ Promise, supporting around 150 individuals.

21 of these families tragically lost a loved in fatal work-related accidents (2023-2025), four to suicide, two are recovering from life-changing work-related accidents and 11 families following trauma and crisis events.

Response Readiness Program: Development of emergency/crisis response case-study exercise-based, experiential training

For over 15 years we have provided compassionate care and specialist support for those left behind in the wake of mining tragedies, with our years of experience and by partnering with subject matter experts the Miners’ Promise “Response Readiness Program” has been designed to provide critical emergency/crisis response case-study exercise-based, experiential training to Australia’s mining sector.

This in-person immersive training will include desktop, practical, and review components to deliver training that is realistic, incorporates industry learnings and best practice, is founded in regulation, and impactful.

The interactive, exercise-based training recognises the high-stress, high-risk nature of responding to emergency and crisis events in mining and will enhance participants’ abilities to calmly and effectively mitigate the immediate, short term and medium-term impact of tragedy to line leadership, co-workers, workplaces, families and broader communities.

Premised on techniques of trauma-informed-response and incorporating grief-related learning all participants will better understand the impact of workplace tragedy and how the consequences and outcomes can be mitigated to reduce the likelihood of psychosocial harm, support mental health and wellbeing and best manage fitness-for-work and return-to-work processes.
